I have a notepad doc that I keep in my documents folder that has a master list. It's password protected, but a password I never forget. This way, if my cookies get deleted, or I forget passwords, I have something to refer back to.
thats why you keep a single pw like '123456' like i do
Keepass is or Lastpass might be something to look at getting.
You should checkout LastPass. Integrates into firefox/chrome/whatever; works in windows/linux/os x. It's saved me quite a few times.
I hate that crap!
I used to use the notepad technique, before someone got into it.
Ooo thanks Trelin, I hate when that happens.
lastpass works pretty well for security and usability

That's why you have little hints to yourself as to what the passwords are

Never been a problem for me as I use sentences from the first chapter my favourite book. If I keep trying I'm bound to get it.Yes, I know I'm a dork ¬_¬
